Hack Night is a 36-hour long hackthon organized by Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC) in celebration of Hacktoberfest 2021. Hacktoberfest is open to everyone in our global community. Whether you’re new to development, a student or a long-time contributor, you can help drive growth of open source and make positive contributions to an ever-growing community. All backgrounds and skills levels are encouraged to complete the challenge.

Prerequisites
Nothing really, atleast one laptop per team. First year engineering participants don't need to know coding since they can use any techstack of their choice including MIT App Inventor, Thunkable, Scratch etc... (the mentor will be guiding them regarding the same)
Post Event Report
HackNight:21 was a 24 hour long hybrid hackathon organized by Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC). The hackathon lasted two days and had 100+ participants from Sahyadri. We conducted a Hybrid hackathon for the first time. We had participants from other colleges participating online and participants from our college participating offline in the college itself
Timeline
The hackathon started on October 23 10AM. There were 4 themes in the hackathon: education, health,entertainment and an open theme as well.We even conducted activities such as capture the flag, red light-green light and many more to keep the participants engaged and energized throughout the event. On October 24 10AM the hackathon came to an end and the judging started.
Attendance
The hackathon lasted two days and had 100+ participants and 20 Mentors/volunteers from Sahyadri.
Judging
The hackathon was judged by Sahyadri alumni Abhi Gatty, Jehad Mohamed and Musthaq Ahamad. The alumni gave valuable knowledge regarding hackathons to the attendees. Team Sharingan consisting of second year students Vinayak,Pavan and Samrat won first place. Team Data Pirates consisting of third year students Akhilesh,Anirudh,Jackson and Swasthik won second place in the hackathon. There were so many good projects that the judges had a hard time deciding the winners. So the judges even declared some honorable mentions. Team Frem-Dem, Team Hacker’s Den and Team Fnatics received honorable mentions.
Feedback
We collected the feedback from the participants via a google form. This was by far one of the most successful events conducted by our community as we received hundreds of registrations as well as really positive feedback from all of the participants.
